Marketing in the News - Companies selling Delta-8 edibles get cease and desist letters on packaging

Samuel Levine is correct with the above statement. It is reckless and companies should be doing a better job trying to protect children and not trying to entice them with products that look similar to snacks they already enjoy. Unfortunately these companies are not the first and won't be the last to use their marketing strategy recklessly. These companies are looking to get brand recognition out and the younger they can catch with their marketing strategy the more likely they are to have those kids as consumers when they are older.
In the article there was a great quote. "Marketing edible THC products that can be easily mistaken by children for regular foods is reckless and illegal," Samuel Levine, director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, said in a statement. "Companies must ensure that their products are marketed safely and responsibly, especially when it comes to protecting the well-being of children."
For this weeks blog I found an article about companies getting into trouble for their marketing strategies. It appears that marijuana edibles are being packaged to look identical to many snacks kids eat, including Nerds, Doritos, and Cheetos. At least 6 companies were sent the cease and desist letter due to their packaging of the products.
